Art of Writing
Young Authors & Artists Conference
Thursday, July 21, 2016
Milwaukee Art Museum
Art of Writing at the Milwaukee Art Museum is where creative students fulfill their dream of becoming published authors and artists. More than 12,000 students have been published after participating in the Young Authors & Artists conferences over the past 28 years. Many have described the experience as “the best day of my life.

Taking place in Wisconsin’s most beautiful building on Lake Michigan, participants explore the newly renovated and expanded galleries. Led in small groups by experienced teachers, writers and artists, inspired by the masterpieces in the museum’s world-class collection, write, sketch, share, critique and revise. Each writer (entering grades 3-12 in the fall) and each artist (entering grades 6-12 in the fall) produces a narrative story or sketch for publication in the Art of Writing book.

We invite students to immerse themselves in the event as they collaborate with other students who share a love of art and the written word.

UW Baraboo Middle School Summer

UW Baraboo is happy to happy to report that they now have confirmed their Middle School University program plan for Summer 2016.  Click here to see attached flyer.  This program is again for the academically talented student who is currently in middle school.

This program is exciting because the students will be in the labs of their new science building, each day with a different instructor. Students will also end the week with a collaborative program which will involve some guests from the community and discussion of science careers.  This is a full week morning program. UW Madison does have middle school arts classes in the afternoon as an option for a full day experience. Click here to see attached flyer.
